The Monmouth County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is the lead agency in the county with regard to preparedness and response to Hurricane Irene. This web page will be updated with the most current information about the storm and the emergency response. Storm update:
As of Aug. 25, 2011 - 11:30 a.m. – Hurricane Irene is predicted to begin impacting Monmouth County late Saturday, Aug. 27 and continue through Sunday, Aug. 28. OEM is coordinating and mobilizing resources among county departments and municipalitites. The county Department of Public Works and Engineering is out on the county roads working to clear catch basins of debris and loading traffic cones and barriers into trucks in preparation of road closures. OEM asks that you do your part to be ready for the storm:
