Where am I to Park?

So Officer where am I to Park? How about my customers? What about my employes?

So What is this about? Well from the outside looking in Parking could be a bigger problem here in Bradley Beach then even in Asbury Park or Red Bank. The Tatler was out and about today in Bradley Beach when The Tatler Rover spotted one of The Bradley Beach Police class 1 special putting this notice on cars.
One business owner was so upset this owner called the Mayor only to be told she was not sure why and to call the Police Chief. Maybe its time I just pack up and move my store. That would be a great loss to the business community if they were to move. In a town with 13 empty stores why would anyone try to make it 14.
During the last 2 elections of both the Mayor and Council Parking has been a issue. One long time Business owner said to the Tatler many of their employes have received tickets for parking in a 1 hour or 30 min time limit area. They also said that the police department has better things to do then write tickets to the business that help pay their salaries. The business owner said maybe if Bradley Beach had one time limit like many towns up north do it would be easier first to police it and second to educated the customers. Here are just a few signs to make you go nuts on the time limit.
This side is 3 hours

Two hours over here!

One side of a driveway 30 mins.

The other side of the driveway 15 min.

Over here on the other side of the street one hour.
Yes its 2 hours across the street here!

So here is a good question I am a small business owner, I need to have walk in traffic, I can rent one of three stories all about the same size and price. Now the question where is the best parking and how far will my customers walk to shop with me in Bradley Beach. Well one is in the south end of town near the 100 block where you can park on both sides of the street for three hours. The second store is near the 5 hundred block I ruled this out early there is 1 hour 2 hour 3 hour 15 min and 30 min parking this is nuts also the side street north of this block has timed parking why?
The third store is in the north end of town 900 block area in front of the store its 1 hour but across the street and around the corner there is no signs so I think you can park all day wow BINGO. But I love the store bythe banks and post office but my customers would go nuts having to move their cars every 15 or 30 min even if they could do you think they would come back or just drive to the mall or strip shopping center. This is why we have 13 empty buildings! This is why many small businesses move in and out so fast. This is why the smart business person checks out parking before they move to Bradley Beach. Here is what a customer said to me today well I love your photo work but I need about a hour or two to find just the right one, but I parked on the side of your building its only 30 minute parking and I have to move my car before I get a ticket, can you guess what happen next? Here is a clue.
Well your right lost that sale thanks Bradley Beach.
Maybe this BUM (Bradley s Unemployed Man) can get local welfare or a job as a gate guard at the beach Thats right they are all full and you have to go to county for welfare.

The story is true the people of Bradley Beach and The Business Owners should work together to get more customers into our beautiful downtown. We have the best shops, services and restaurants at the jersey shore. We call ourselves The Family Resort The Gem at The Shore and A Hamlet where you come for a day and dream of forever. Why not have if you must one time limit Town wide on Main Street of Three Hours. Why not have special parking passes for Business's and Main Street resident who have no off street parking. Why not use the new shuttle as a way to help local business's not hurt them like only 3 stops on Main Street maybe double the stops to 6 and more people would try it. I was told there best day was under 20 riders More Stops and Signs will help.
